Banff Film Festival 2020

Banff Film Festival 2020

This year, bring the adventure home! Fluff up your couch cushions, grab a snack of choice, and make sure you have good internet connection, because the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour is going Virtual!  For the first time ever, travel to breathtaking destinations, embark on daring expeditions, and celebrate some of the most remarkable outdoor achievements, all from the comforts of your living room.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created extraordinary circumstances around the world and many of our live World Tour screenings have been postponed or canceled.  While we can’t replicate the experience of seeing the Banff films on the big screen of your local theatre, surrounded by friends and your community, these curated programs of amazing outdoor films will inspire you to live life to the fullest… however that looks these days!

The Great Falls Ski Patrol is partnering with the Banff Centre For Arts and Creativity to make available a virtual 2020 Banff Film Festival World Tour!

Outdoors enthusiasts, Ski Patrol supporters, and the general public will be able to access this amazing collection of films starting Thursday, November 26th.

The link to gain access to this amazing show is:

The single program ($15USD) will have a 3 day rental period, and the bundle of two programs ($28USD) will have a rental period of 14 days. Customers can view the films as many times as they like during the rental period which begins immediately upon viewing (that is, as soon as they hit play).

Customers will need to have an internet connection to view the films, and they are available only through online streaming (not download).

There is a Banff Mountain Festival App, which can be used to watch films, but not to purchase them–they must be purchased on the web first. The App will let the customer view programs that have been rented, without needing wifi, once the sync process is finished.
